Neighbors & Nations
One of our commitments as a church is "Neighbors & Nations". We desire to make disciples at home and around the world, so we pursue both global missions to the nations, and local outreach to our neighbors!
Declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Disciple-Making at Home and Around the World, Demonstrating the Father’s Love in Spirit and Truth.
Global Missions
Our love for God and our passion for His Glory fuels our desire to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth (Matthew 28:18-20). It is our joy to support the ministries of these faithful servants, to "send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God" (3 John 1:6).
The Bacheller Family
TEAM
Ben & Becky Bacheller live in Brazil as missionaries with TEAM. We specifically work in four spheres of ministry: from our home, to our city, nationally in Brazil, as well as internationally with TEAM as a consultant for the Creation Care ministries we have with TEAM missionaries as well as other mission agencies. The amazing opportunity we have in serving here in Brazil is that not only are we planting seeds and trees, we’re planting spiritual seeds in each relationship developed, hoping and praying they grow into a forest of believers.”
Church Partnership
Nairobi, Kenya
Facilitated by World Orphans, our church-to-church partnership with Fountain of Hope Church in Nairobi, Kenya has been growing for more than a decade. We do this in partnership with our sister congregation, River Oaks Community Church.
Through the years, our partners in this beloved ministry have become like an extended family to us. We have encouraged one another, prayed with one another, and ministered alongside one another by striving side-by-side for the faith of the Gospel (Phil 1:27).
Local Outreach
We want to fulfill the Great Commission in our local community, so we seek to love our neighbors and make disciples right here in East Tennessee. We pray that Acts 6:7 would happen in Blount County and the surrounding area: "The word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly..." (Acts 6:7).
We partner with our sister congregation, River Oaks Community Church, for several of these outreach ministries. If you want to find more information or sign up to volunteer, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
James 1:27 Ministry (Adoption/Assisted Living)
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” (James 1:27)
This is a dual ministry seeking to serve the adoption-minded and foster families within our body, as well as the widows and widowers in the assisted living homes in our community.
Members of this ministry serve at the following Assisted Living homes:
- Each Sunday at 9:00am at Brookdale Sandy Springs (511 Pearson Springs Rd.)
- First Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm at Clover Hill Senior Living (2317 US-411 S)
ELL Ministry (English Language Learners)
We aren’t just going to the nations, God is bring the nations to us! We want to reach our International neighbors with the hope of the gospel while helping them learn English so they can thrive.
ELL Class – Our ELL Class meets at River Oaks Community Church most Monday evenings. These classes are open to members of our community who would like to grow in their understanding of the English language.
ELL Walk & Talk – Most Friday mornings a few ladies (and their children) from church join about 10 international women to walk the Greenway and practice English. This is a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus with internationals that the Lord has brought to Maryville. We meet behind Southern Grace to walk to the Greenway.
“…he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God…” (Acts 17:26-27)
Jail Ministry

“…if you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10)
