Serving at Clover Hill
A church is a body and a body is made up of members. Every member serves an important purpose and contributes to the overall wellness of the body.
In 1 Corinthians 12:17-20, Paul writes, “If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body."
With this in mind, we are always looking for ways to help members get involved and serve in the life of our church.
Here are a few ways to serve. If you want to find out more, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page and let us know how you'd like to serve.
Children's Ministry
Our goal at Clover Hill Kids is to help families disciple their children to know Christ, grow in Christ, and serve Christ as their Lord and Redeemer.
We aim to help children become followers of Jesus by teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, not just moral lessons or Bible stories. We do this using methods of instruction and interaction that are both excellent and age-appropriate.
We minister to nursery through elementary age children, primarily by equipping parents to shepherd their children’s hearts well.
We offer Sunday school classes for nursery through fifth grade. The Word of God is the backbone of our ministry for every age group. Our teaching focuses on Jesus as the fulfillment of all the promises of God through the glorious hope of the Gospel.
Student Ministry
Our mission is to come alongside parents in shepherding their families. We desire to see each student come to know and love Christ, be transformed through the power of the Gospel, and have a worldview shaped by the Scriptures.
It is our great privilege to work alongside parents to foster a love of Christ in students’ lives, and to lead them toward becoming faithful Christian disciples who make other disciples.
Welcome Team
The Welcome Team exists to live out Romans 15:7 – “Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” Our team welcomes people to the family and community of God at Clover Hill. For visitors, this will be a “first impression” that begins from the time they pull into the parking lot and continues until they leave and hopefully return to stay. For members and regular attenders, our team will be friendly, familiar faces welcoming them into a day of worship and enjoyment of God and his people.
This Welcome Team:
- Guides people to where everything is in the church.
- Makes and serves coffee.
- Enters into conversations and gets to know people.
- Helps visitors learn what they can do to get connected (i.e. help them locate a growth group or learn about ministries for their children).
- Points people to the ways that Clover Hill can serve them and their families as well as how they can serve when the time comes.
Worship Team
The worship ministry at Clover Hill is built on the following principles:
- The worship (music) ministry exists to help lead the gathered saints in singing praise to our Triune God and in ministering God’s word to his people through song. God’s glory is the chief and highest end of our worship, therefore our music ministry is committed to excellently making his praise glorious. The psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that we sing are selected for their high view of God, and the purpose of all that we do in worship, as a gathered church, is to glorify and enjoy Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- One way that we edify / disciple / encourage one another and grow in unity as a gathered church is to sing worship songs to our great God. The Father is seeking true worshippers – those who worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23). As worship leaders, we desire to sing words that illuminate and underline the truth of who God is and what He’s done for us. These truths should then, by the Holy Spirit, stir in our hearts a sincere response (spirit) of praise motivated by love for our God.
- The worship ministry team makes it a priority to lead music excellently and skillfully in order to contribute to, rather than hinder people from, engaging with God. Exodus 36 describes the men selected to oversee the construction of the tabernacle as being gifted with “skill and intelligence”. Bob Kauflin states, “When David looked for a Levite to lead singing, he picked Kenaniah ‘because he was skillful at it’ (1 Chronicles 15:22).” We do not want to over-emphasize skillful musicianship, but seek to pursue it in a way that pleases and glorifies God.
Tech Team
Our Tech Team serves us each Sunday morning by running the sound, managing the slides, and creating the live stream. They work with excellence in the background to help keep our worship focused on our glorious God!
Serving on the Tech Team is an easy way to start serving in the church. If you can change the volume on your TV at home, or can use a computer and click on things on the screen, then you have the skills you need to be able to help out.
Most of the tasks the Tech Team at Clover Hill fall under a few different categories:
- The Sound Team, setting up the stage for Sunday worship and running the sound boards during service.
- The Proclaim Team, setting up the slides for Sunday worship and running the screens during service.
- The Livestream Team, setting up the livestream settings and tags, and managing the video overlays and transitions during the service stream.
Security Team
The Security Team at Clover Hill is designed to add an element of protection to the congregation and children. We wont be dressed in black suits and wearing sunglasses (as cool as that sounds). Instead we will be watchful and mindful during the service and will serve as helpful guides to those visiting the church.
The Security Team is close knit group that serves on Sunday mornings in a rotation. If you have a background in security, or have a passion for it, we would love to talk with you.
Facilities
Our building and property has various levels of need at different times. If you have skills that you’d like to use to help out, we’d love to hear from you so we can call on you when a need arises. Whether you’re skilled in plumbing and electrical, or if you’d like to paint walls and hang pictures, you can help out!
